ఇలా చెప్పి, శివమాయచే మోహితులైన ఆ దైత్య-దానవులందరూ ఛలరూపం ధరించిన ఆ విష్ణువుకు (తమ దానం/వరాన్ని) అందించారు।
Suta Goswami (narrating the Shiva Purana account to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Cosmic Event: Samudra-manthana aftermath motif (devasura stratagem; distribution of gains under divine concealment)
The verse highlights Śiva’s Māyā as the veiling power that confuses the ego-driven mind; when beings lack right discernment and grace, they mistake appearances for truth and act against their own welfare.
It underscores that Saguna Shiva, as Lord of Māyā, governs the play of forms; Linga-worship trains the devotee to see beyond deceptive outer appearances and anchor the mind in Śiva as the steady, transcendent Reality.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) with vibhuti (Tripundra) and mindful self-inquiry, cultivating viveka (discernment) so the mind is not carried away by Māyā.
