It praises Śiva-dharma lived in the gṛhastha (householder) path—devotion to Śiva expressed through fidelity, service, and righteous conduct, which purifies the mind and supports liberation-oriented devotion.
By highlighting Śiva-dharma in daily life, it implies that Saguna Śiva worship (including Liṅga-pūjā) is strengthened when one’s conduct—especially in family life—aligns with devotion, discipline, and service.
The verse suggests steady daily observance (nityam) of Śiva-dharma—practically, regular Śiva-nāma japa such as the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) alongside disciplined, duty-filled living.
