Suta Goswami

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Īśāna

Jyotirlinga: Oṃkāreśvara

Sthala Purana: The verse explicitly characterizes the liṅga as ‘oṃkāra-ja’ (born of Oṃ), which strongly aligns with the Oṃkāreśvara tradition where the praṇava (Oṃ) is the liṅga’s very source-form. ‘Bindusarasa’ is presented as the immediate sacred locus where this liṅga named Kardameśvara is famed.

Significance: Bestowal of sarva-kāma-phala is framed as Śiva’s lordship over dharmic aims; in Siddhānta terms, worldly boons are secondary fruits, while the deeper telos is maturation toward grace and liberation.

Mantra: oṃkārajaṃ ca yalliṃgaṃ

Type: stotra

Offering: pushpa

FAQs

It links the Liṅga to Oṁ—the primal sound—showing Śiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) who manifests in an accessible, saguna form to uplift devotees and grant dharmic fulfillment.

By calling the Liṅga “Oṁkāra-born” and naming it Kardameśvara, the verse frames Liṅga worship as communion with Śiva’s manifest presence at a sacred tīrtha, where devotion and right intention yield tangible spiritual and worldly fruits.

Pilgrimage and Liṅga-pūjā at Bindusarasa with Oṁ-focused japa (especially the Panchākṣarī, ‘Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya’) and simple offerings like water/abhisheka, directing desires toward dharma.
