ఈ సంక్షిప్త సూక్తం ఉదయకాల దివ్యగమనాన్ని ఆహ్వానిస్తుంది: తన చిహ్నమైన రథంతో ప్రకాశిస్తూ ఉషస్సు ఆగమనం, అలాగే ప్రాతఃసోమపిష్టనాల వైపు అశ్వినులు వేగంగా చేరడం. ప్రేరిత వాక్కు, క్రమబద్ధ యజ్ఞం, దేవతల ఆగమనం కలిసే యజ్ఞసీమగా ఉషస్సును ఇది ప్రతిపాదిస్తుంది; దేవతలు మేల్కొని యాగక్రియకూ దాని గాయకులకూ శక్తి ప్రసాదించాలని ప్రార్థిస్తుంది.

समानमु त्यं पुरुहूतमुक्थ्यं रथं त्रिचक्रं सवना गनिग्मतम् । परिज्मानं विदथ्यं सुवृक्तिभिर्वयं व्युष्टा उषसो हवामहे ॥
అదే బహు-ఆహూత, స్తోత్రార్హమైన త్రిచక్ర రథం—సోమ-పిష్టనాల వైపు సాగుతూ—వచ్చి చేరింది. పరిభ్రమించే, విదథ (సభ) యోగ్యమైనది; సువృక్తి (సుగాథిత) స్తుతివాక్యాలతో, ఉషస్సుల వ్యుష్టి-క్షణంలో, మేల్కొలుపుకోసం ఉషస్సులను (ప్రభాతాలను) మేము హవిస్తాము.

प्रातर्युजं नासत्याधि तिष्ठथः प्रातर्यावाणं मधुवाहनं रथम् । विशो येन गच्छथो यज्वरीर्नरा कीरेश्चिद्यज्ञं होतृमन्तमश्विना ॥
ఓ నాసత్యౌ, ప్రాతర్యుజమైన యోగంపై అధిష్ఠించండి; ప్రాతఃకాలంలో వచ్చే మధువాహన రథాన్ని అధిరోహించండి. దానివల్ల, ఓ నరౌ, మీరు ప్రజల మధ్యను యజ్వరీ జనుల మధ్యను సంచరిస్తారు; ఇంకా గాయకునికోసం కూడా, ఓ అశ్వినౌ, యజ్ఞాన్ని హోతృ-శక్తితో, ఆహ్వాన-వాణితో సమృద్ధిగా చేస్తారు.

अध्वर्युं वा मधुपाणिं सुहस्त्यमग्निधं वा धृतदक्षं दमूनसम् । विप्रस्य वा यत्सवनानि गच्छथोऽत आ यातं मधुपेयमश्विना ॥
మధుపాణి, సుహస్త (నైపుణ్యహస్త) అధ్వర్యు అయినా, లేదా దృఢదక్షుడు, యథావాసుడు అయిన అగ్నీధ్ అయినా—మీరు విప్రుని సవనయజ్ఞాలకు ఎప్పుడెప్పుడు వెళ్తారో, అప్పుడు హే అశ్వినౌ, ఇక్కడికి రండి; మధుపేయ (మధుర సోమ/ఆహుతి-రసం) పానంచేయండి.
