समु प्र यन्ति धीतयः सर्गासोऽवताँ इव । क्रतुं नः सोम जीवसे वि वो मदे धारया चमसाँ इव विवक्षसे ॥

Transliteration

samú pra yánti dhītáyaḥ sárgāso’vatā́m iva | krátuṃ naḥ soma jīváse ví vo máde dhāráyā camasā́m iva vivákṣase ||

Translation

సమవేతమైన ధీతులు ముందుకు సాగుతాయి— ఎత్తులనుండి దిగివచ్చే వేగవంతమైన ప్రవాహాలవలె. ఓ సోమా! మా జీవనార్థం మాలో క్రతు (సచేత సంకల్పశక్తి)ని స్థాపించుము; నీ మదంలో దానిని పోసి, మాలో పెంపొందించుము— యజ్ఞార్థం చమసాలలో రసం పోసినట్లు.
