ఈ సంక్షిప్త సూక్తం అగ్నిని ప్రజ్వలింపజేయడాన్ని ప్రజల మధ్య సామరస్యాన్ని ప్రజ్వలింపజేయడముతో అనుసంధానిస్తుంది: సమకూరిన ఇంధనంతో అగ్ని పరిపూర్ణంగా పెరుగునట్లు, సమకూరిన సంకల్పంతో సమాజం బలపడుతుంది. ఇది సమాన వాక్కు, సమాన మనస్సు, సమాన కర్మకాండను ప్రార్థిస్తుంది; అనేకులలో “ఒకే చైతన్యం” ఏర్పడుటకు యజ్ఞమే ప్రాయోగిక సాధనమని ప్రతిపాదిస్తుంది.

संसमिद्युवसे वृषन्नग्ने विश्वान्यर्य आ । इळस्पदे समिध्यसे स नो वसून्या भर ॥
హే అగ్నీ, వృషన్—బలవంతుడవు, సమృద్ధ తేజస్సుగలవు—సమిధల సమాగమంతో నీవు ప్రజ్వలించి వృద్ధి చెందుతావు; ఇళా-పదే (ఆకాంక్షాసనంలో) ప్రజ్వలించి, ఆర్య ప్రయత్నానికి చెందిన సమస్త శక్తులను ఇక్కడికి తెమ్ము; మాకు వసూని—సంపదల్ని, పరిపూర్ణతల్ని—అందించు.

सं गच्छध्वं सं वदध्वं सं वो मनांसि जानताम् । देवा भागं यथा पूर्वे संजानाना उपासते ॥
కలిసి నడవండి; కలిసి పలకండి; మీ మనస్సులు ఒకే బోధలో మేల్కొనుగాక. పూర్వకాల దేవతలు పరస్పర సమ్మతితో భాగాన్ని ఉపాసించినట్లే, మీరు కూడా ఏకమై, మీ సామూహిక కర్మ యొక్క యజ్ఞార్పణను సమ్యక్గా సమర్పించండి.

समानो मन्त्रः समितिः समानी समानं मनः सह चित्तमेषाम् । समानं मन्त्रमभि मन्त्रये वः समानेन वो हविषा जुहोमि ॥
మీకందరికీ మంత్రం ఒక్కటే; సమితి (సభ) ఒక్కటే; మనస్సు ఒక్కటే; మీ చిత్తమూ ఒక్కటిగా జాగృతమై ఉంది. అదే ఒక మంత్రంతో నేను మిమ్మల్ని ఏకముచేస్తాను; అదే ఒక హవిషాతో నేను మీకొరకు ఆహుతి సమర్పిస్తాను.
