अहं तु हृतदारश्च राज्याच्य महतश्च्युतः।नदीकूलमिव क्लिन्नमवसीदामि लक्ष्मण।।।।
ahaṃ tu hṛta-dāraś ca rājyāc ca mahataś cyutaḥ | nadī-kūlam iva klinnam avasīdāmi lakṣmaṇa ||
కానీ నేను—భార్యను కోల్పోయి, మహత్తర రాజ్యంనుండి పడిపోయి—తడిసిన నదీ తీరంలా కూలిపోతున్నాను, లక్ష్మణా।
'O Lakshmana! I have lost my wife. I have been dethroned from the mighty kingdom. I am sinking like a river bank overflowed.
Dharma includes truthful acknowledgment of suffering without abandoning duty: Rāma states his pain (satya) while still remaining within the moral frame of perseverance.
Rāma confides to Lakṣmaṇa his deepening despair in the rains—Sītā is abducted and his royal station is lost.
Emotional honesty joined to endurance: Rāma does not conceal grief, yet continues forward in righteous purpose.
