स गृहीत्वा धनुर्घोरं शरमेकं च मानदः।सालमुद्दिश्य चिक्षेप ज्यास्वनैः पूरयन्दिशः। 4.12.2।।
sa gṛhītvā dhanur ghoraṃ śaram ekaṃ ca mānadaḥ | sālam uddiśya cikṣepa jyāsvanaiḥ pūrayan diśaḥ || 4.12.2 ||
శత్రువుల గర్వాన్ని అణచే శ్రీరాముడు భయంకరమైన ధనుస్సును పట్టుకొని ఒక్క బాణాన్ని తీసుకున్నాడు. శాలవృక్షాన్ని లక్ష్యంగా చేసి విడిచెను; ధనుర్జ్యా ధ్వనితో దిక్కులు నిండిపోయాయి॥
