ततस्सुमन्त्रमैक्ष्वाकः पीडितोऽत्र प्रतिज्ञया।सबाष्पमतिनिश्श्वश्य जगादेदं पुनः पुनः।।।।

Transliteration

tataḥ sumantram aikṣvākaḥ pīḍito 'tra pratijñayā | sabāṣpam atiniśśvasya jagādedaṃ punaḥ punaḥ || 2.36.1 ||

Translation

అనంతరం ఈ ప్రతిజ్ఞ వల్ల బాధపడుతున్న ఇక్ష్వాకు వంశజుడు దశరథుడు సుమంత్రుని చూచెను; కన్నీళ్లతో నిండిన నేత్రాలతో, మళ్లీ మళ్లీ దీర్ఘ నిశ్వాసాలు విడుచుచు ఈ మాటలను పలికెను।
