Unspecified (context needed to identify the speaker reliably)

Concept: Transgressing obligations toward the ancestors (pitṛ-dharma) brings suffering to one’s lineage; destiny then channels one into a corrective or fated birth.

Application: Maintain pitṛ-respect: care for parents/elders, perform śrāddha/tarpaṇa when appropriate, and avoid actions that fracture family trust and responsibility.

Primary Rasa: karuna

Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A solemn admonition unfolds in a twilight hall where ancestral silhouettes hover like faint lamps behind a family tree painted on the air. The speaker gestures toward a branching lineage that darkens at one node, then brightens again as the destined birth as Vasu’s daughter is revealed like a turning of fate.","primary_figures":["prophetic sage (unnamed)","ancestral presences (pitṛs)","symbolic King Vasu (distant, regal outline)","destined daughter (symbolic)"],"setting":"Ritual hall with ancestral altar imagery—oil lamps, kusa grass, offering vessels—blending into a visionary genealogical tableau.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["smoky amber","lamp-gold","maroon","ash gray","midnight blue"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: central sage warning before a stylized pitṛ-altar with gold-leaf lamps; behind, a gilded genealogical tree with one darkened branch; at the side, a regal King Vasu figure in ornate crown; heavy gold leaf, ruby-green textiles, jeweled borders, symmetrical composition.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: intimate interior with soft lamplight; translucent pitṛ-figures like mist behind a painted family tree; the sage’s hand raised in counsel; delicate textiles, muted maroons and indigos, refined facial features, subtle emotional tension.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines of sage and pitṛ-forms; altar with lamps and offering pots; genealogical tree motif as a decorative band; strong reds/yellows/greens with black contouring, temple-wall aesthetic and iconic frontal poses.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: ornate border of lotus and lamp motifs; central scene of counsel with pitṛ-figures rendered as golden silhouettes; genealogical tree as floral-vine pattern; deep blue ground, gold highlights, intricate textile detailing."}

FAQs

It teaches that violating one’s duty toward the Pitṛs (ancestors) results in karmic consequences that can affect one’s family line and future birth.

The verse names “King Vasu” as the father in a foretold rebirth—indicating a specific future identity (“you will become the daughter of King Vasu”).

It emphasizes accountability: personal transgression, especially regarding sacred obligations like pitṛ-dharma, can lead to suffering that extends beyond the individual to the wider lineage.
