FAQs

The speaker is Śakra (Indra). He declares that he will strike and bring his opponent down to Bhāskarī using arrows, implying a tactical attack while the other is unaware.

Indra is described as “mahātejāḥ” (greatly radiant) and “sarvasurārcitaḥ” (worshipped by all the gods), emphasizing his preeminence and divine authority within the Deva hierarchy.

The use of “parokṣeṇa” highlights strategy and opportunism in conflict; it invites reflection on the tension between power and righteousness—whether victory sought through surprise aligns with dharma depends on the broader narrative context.
