FAQs

It highlights extraordinary virtue appearing early in life and introduces a plot moment where a wise observer recognizes the child’s special qualities.

The verse explicitly foregrounds Jñāna through the presence of a jñānī (wise knower), while the child’s virtues can later support either devotional (bhakti) or ethical-dharmic readings depending on the surrounding narrative.

True excellence is measured by character (guṇa) rather than age; wisdom recognizes virtue even when it appears in unexpected forms, such as in a very young child.
