Rite of Tree Consecration and the Merit of Planting Sacred Trees

अश्वत्थो रोगनाशाय पलाशो ब्रह्मदस्तथा । प्रेतत्वं जायते पुंसो रोपयेद्यो विभीतकम्

aśvattho roganāśāya palāśo brahmadastathā | pretatvaṃ jāyate puṃso ropayedyo vibhītakam

అశ్వత్థ (రావి) వృక్షాన్ని నాటడం రోగనాశార్థం; అలాగే పలాశం బ్రహ్మప్రసాదాన్ని ప్రసాదించేదని చెప్పబడింది. కానీ ఎవడు విభీతక వృక్షాన్ని నాటుతాడో, ఆ పురుషునికి ప్రేతత్వం కలుగుతుంది.
