K
Kṛtamālā (river)

FAQs

It situates the scene near the Kṛtamālā river and evokes a lived sacred landscape—rivers, directions, and local flora—typical of Purāṇic tīrtha-descriptions.

Indirectly: by portraying a serene, fragrant environment associated with a sacred riverbank, it supports the devotional mood (bhāva) in which pilgrimage, worship, and remembrance are traditionally performed.

The verse models attentiveness and reverence toward sacred places in nature—encouraging a contemplative, respectful approach to tīrthas rather than a merely utilitarian one.
