Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: vira

Type: temple

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Inside a clean, modest home shrine, a devotee lights a ghee-filled lamp before Kṛṣṇa’s image; the flame rises like a miniature sacrificial fire. In the background, a translucent vision of a grand Vedic yajña with banners and priests appears, suggesting that the humble lamp contains the power of an Aśvamedha—day after day.","primary_figures":["Kṛṣṇa","Dvija householder devotee","Vedic priests (visionary, faint)"],"setting":"Domestic altar with brass lamp, conch, flowers, and a small framed Kṛṣṇa icon; Kartika evening calm.","lighting_mood":"temple lamp-lit","color_palette":["ghee-gold","saffron","peacock blue","marigold orange","warm teak brown"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Kṛṣṇa on a small throne at a home altar, devotee offering a ghee lamp, heavy gold leaf on flame and Kṛṣṇa’s ornaments, rich red-green textiles, embossed arch, faint background vignette of an Aśvamedha yajña rendered like a golden mirage.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: cozy interior with delicate detailing of brass lamp and ghee sheen, Kṛṣṇa’s icon softly glowing, a pale visionary scene of a Vedic sacrifice in the distance, cool blues and warm ambers balanced, refined expressions and gentle domestic realism.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: frontal Kṛṣṇa with stylized crown, devotee holding lamp, bold outlines and flat pigments, decorative borders with conch and lotus, a simplified symbolic horse-sacrifice motif in the background as a faint emblem rather than literal gore.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central Kṛṣṇa medallion above a large diya, symmetrical floral borders, cows and peacocks around the shrine courtyard, gold-on-blue patterning, small repeating diya motifs to indicate ‘day after day’ merit."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"celebratory","suggested_raga":"Desh","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["hand bell","conch shell","soft mridangam pulse","lamp crackle","family chanting in background"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: दद्याच्च = दद्याच् च; चाश्वमेधस्य = च अश्वमेधस्य; दिनेदिने = दिने दिने (सन्धि/समासवत् अव्ययीभावप्रयोगः).

FAQs

It teaches dīpa-dāna—offering a lamp (specifically with ghee) for Kṛṣṇa—especially during the sacred month of Kārttika.

The comparison emphasizes that simple devotional offerings performed with faith in Kārttika can yield immense spiritual merit, traditionally equated with the results of major Vedic sacrifices.

The verse highlights accessible devotion: sincere, daily worship and charity (like lighting a ghee lamp) can be spiritually transformative, not limited to costly or elite ritual performances.
