FAQs

It prescribes drinking pañcagavya for five nights and then giving two cows as dakṣiṇā (a ritual gift/fee), stating this leads to purification.

Pañcagavya refers to a traditional mixture of five cow-derived substances used in certain ritual contexts; here it is treated as part of a prescribed expiatory/purificatory regimen.

The verse links inner/ritual purification with dāna (charitable giving), implying that expiation is completed not only by personal observance but also by an act of religious generosity.
