Prabhāsa-kṣetra: Circuit of Tīrthas and Shrines Leading to Bhukti and Mokṣa

yatra snāto'pi manujaḥ svargiṃṇā sparddhate śubhe | māhātmyaṃ ca prabhāsasya likhitaṃ vartate gṛhe || 93 ||

FAQs

It declares the exceptional merit (puṇya) of Prabhāsa: a bath there elevates an ordinary person to the status of a heavenly being, and even preserving its written māhātmya at home is treated as spiritually potent.

By valuing remembrance and reverent engagement with a sacred kṣetra—through tīrtha-snānā and keeping/reading the māhātmya—the verse points to bhakti expressed as faith-filled association with Viṣṇu-linked holy places and their glorifications.

It primarily highlights ritual practice (tīrtha-snānā and māhātmya-pāṭha/lekhanā as dhārmic observances) rather than a technical Vedāṅga; the practical takeaway is the prescribed use of sacred texts and bathing rites as purificatory disciplines.
