Narada (teaching in the Uttara-Bhaga narrative on tirtha/rite-based merit)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It highlights the extraordinary potency of a prescribed act (in this chapter’s ritual/tirtha context) by equating its merit to major Śrauta sacrifices, teaching that dharmic performance can yield vast puṇya.
Though framed in yajña-phala language, it supports Bhakti-oriented Purāṇic teaching by directing seekers toward accessible, sanctified practices that can rival complex sacrifices—often performed with remembrance of the Lord and faith.
Śrauta-ritual literacy is implied: knowledge of Agnicayana (altar construction), and Soma-sacrifices like Jyotiṣṭoma and Agniṣṭoma—topics connected with Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Jyotiṣa (timing/auspicious rites).
