Adhyaya 76 — The Sixth Manvantara: Cakshusha Manu, the Child-Snatcher, and the Problem of Kinship
svārthe prasaktā mārjārī prasaktaṃ mām avekṣate / tathāntardhānagā caiva dvitīyā jātahāriṇī //

The child frames a moral lens: beings can approach another not for the other’s good but for their own ends—sometimes openly, sometimes covertly.
Ākhyāna/dharma-upadeśa; the verse uses illustrative comparison rather than genealogical or manvantara enumeration.
Two modes of grasping: ‘devouring’ (gross exploitation) and ‘stealing’ (subtle appropriation). The teaching warns against both in relationships and inner life.
