Adhyaya 75 — The Fall and Restoration of Revatī Nakṣatra and the Birth of Raivata Manu
kuputro hṛdayāyāsaṃ sarvadā kurute pituḥ | mātuś ca svarga-saṃsthāṃś ca sva-pitṝn pātayaty adhaḥ ||
One’s conduct affects not only oneself but also parents and ancestral continuity. The Purāṇic worldview frames family as a moral network: adharma in descendants disrupts the merit (puṇya) stream associated with pitṛs and household rites.
Vaṃśānucarita with pitṛ-related dharma teaching; indirectly supports Manvantara by grounding cosmic chronology in lived ethical causality.
‘Pitṛs in heaven’ can symbolize inherited samskāras and higher potentials. A ‘bad son’ (unrefined ego-born action) drags down those inherited virtues, collapsing a family’s spiritual altitude into lower tendencies.
