Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture

Sanskrit

पर्वतोदधिसेविन्यो ह्यनिकेतास्तु सर्वशः ।

ता वै निष्कामचारिण्यो नित्यं मुदितमानसाः ॥

Transliteration

parvatodadhisevinyo hy aniketās tu sarvaśaḥ |

tā vai niṣkāmacāriṇyo nityaṃ muditamānasāḥ ||

Translation

వారు పర్వతాలు, సముద్రాలను ఆశ్రయించి ఎక్కడా స్థిర నివాసం లేకుండేవారు. కోరికలేక సంచరిస్తూ, వారి మనస్సు ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఆనందంగా ఉండేది.
