Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon
बाहुभिश्न सकेयूरैविंचित्रैश्व महारथै: । सुवर्णचित्रै: कवचैर्ध्वजैश्न विनिपातितै:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | bāhubhiś ca keyūraiś ca vicitraiś ca mahārathaiḥ | suvarṇacitraiḥ kavacair dhvajaiś ca vinipātitaiḥ ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ద్రోణుడు మరియు అర్జునుడు ఎదురెదురుగా యుద్ధం చేసిన ఆ సమరంలో పార్థుని బాణాలచేత బాధింపబడి అనేక మంది యోధులు మరణించారు. కేయూరాలతో అలంకరించిన భుజాలు తెగి నేలపై పడ్డాయి. విచిత్ర వేషభూషలతో ఉన్న మహారథులు ధరణిపై కూలిపోతున్నారు. స్వర్ణజటితమైన నానావిధ కవచాలు, పడిపోయిన ధ్వజాలు అక్కడక్కడా చెల్లాచెదురుగా పడి ఉన్నాయి. ఈ వినాశనచిహ్నాలను చూచి ఆ సైన్యం అంతా భయంతో ఉద్భ్రాంతమై, ప్రాయశః చైతన్యహీనమైంది.
