अध्याय ५०: उत्तरेण सह अर्जुनस्य रथप्रयाणे ध्वजचिह्नैः कौरवसेनानिर्देशः
Arjuna directs Uttara by identifying Kaurava commanders through banners
संग्रामांश्च बहून् जित्वा लब्धवा च विपुलं धनम् | विजित्य च परां सेनां नाहु: किंचन पौरुषम्
saṅgrāmāṁś ca bahūn jitvā labdhvā ca vipulaṁ dhanam | vijitya ca parāṁ senāṁ nāhuḥ kiñcana pauruṣam ||
కృపుడు పలికెను—అనేక యుద్ధములను జయించి, అపార ధనమును సంపాదించి, శత్రుసేనను ఓడించినప్పటికీ జ్ఞానులు వ్యర్థమైన ఆత్మస్తుతిలో మునగరు. అగ్ని మాటలేకుండానే అన్నిటిని భస్మం చేస్తుంది; సూర్యుడు మౌనంగా వెలుగును ప్రసరిస్తాడు; భూమి నిశ్శబ్దంగా చరాచర జగత్తును ధరిస్తుంది. అలాగే నిజమైన శౌర్యం మాటల గర్వంలో కాదు, కార్యంలోనే తెలుస్తుంది.
