Virāṭa Rescued from Suśarmā; Night Battle and Royal Gratitude (विराटमोक्षणं सुशर्मवधाभिमुखं च)
ततो रथाभ्यां रथिनौ व्यतीयतुरमर्षणौ । शरान् व्यसृजतां शीघ्र॑ं तोयधारा घना इव,क्रोधमें भरे हुए वे दोनों रथी अपना-अपना रथ बढ़ाकर निकट आ गये और शीघ्रतापूर्वक एक दूसरेपर बाणोंकी झड़ी लगाने लगे, मानो दो मेघ जलकी धाराएँ बरसा रहे हों
tato rathābhyāṃ rathinau vyatīyatur amarṣaṇau | śarān vyasṛjatāṃ śīghraṃ toyadhārā ghanā iva ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను— అప్పుడు అవమానాన్ని సహించని, క్రోధంతో మండుతున్న ఆ ఇద్దరు రథికులు తమ తమ రథాలను ముందుకు నడిపి దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, వేగంగా పరస్పరం బాణవర్షం కురిపించిరి—రెండు మేఘాలు జలధారలు కురిపించినట్లు.
