वैशग्पायन उवाच
As a colophon, the verse does not teach through direct instruction; it frames the episode ethically by labeling it as a cattle-raid and a campaign led by Suśarmā—highlighting themes of unjust aggression and the consequent obligations of protection and response within dharma.
This line concludes the chapter and identifies its placement: in the Virāṭa Parva, within the cattle-raid section, describing the southern cattle seizure and Suśarmā’s expedition.
