निहतोष्टाश्वबहुला: पदातिजनसंकुला: । भयादाधावमानाश्ष् परस्परहतास्तदा,उनके बहुत-से ऊँट और घोड़े मारे गये और उस समुदायमें बहुत-से पैदल लोग भी थे। वे सब लोग उस समय भयसे चारों ओर भागते हुए एक-दूसरेसे टकराकर चोट खा जाते थे। घोर आर्तनाद करते हुए सभी लोग धरतीपर गिरने लगे। कुछ लोग बड़े वेगसे वृक्षोंपर चढ़ते हुए नीचेकी विषम भूमियोंपर गिर पड़ते थे
bṛhadaśva uvāca | nihatāṣṭāśvabahulāḥ padātijanasaṅkulāḥ | bhayād ādhāvamānāś ca parasparahatās tadā |
అనేక ఒంటెలు, గుర్రాలు చనిపోయాయి; ఆ సమూహం పాదసైనికులతో నిండిపోయి ఉంది. భయంతో వారు అన్ని దిశలకూ పరుగెత్తగా, తొక్కిసలాటలో పరస్పరం ఢీకొని గాయపడి, ఆ వేళ పరస్పరహతులైనట్లయ్యారు।
