इष्टो भक्तश्न मे कर्णो न चान्यद् दैवतं दिवि | जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम्,आपको यह मालूम है कि कर्ण मेरा प्रिय भक्त है और वह स्वर्गके दूसरे किसी भी देवताको (अपने इष्टरूपमें नहीं जानता है, यही समझकर आप मुझे मेरे हितका उपदेश कर रहे हैं
iṣṭo bhaktaś ca me karṇo na cānyad daivataṃ divi | jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavān āha mad-dhitam |
‘కర్ణుడు నా ప్రియ భక్తుడు; స్వర్గములో ఇతర దేవతను ఇష్టదైవంగా ఎరుగడు’ అని తెలిసికొని భగవంతుడు నా హితార్థమై ఉపదేశము చేసెను।
