तस्य मेघोपमं सैन्यमापतद् भीमदर्शनम् । दृष्टवैव सहसा दीर्णा रणे वानरपुड्भवा:,मेघोंकी काली घटाके समान भयानक दिखायी देनेवाली उसकी सेनाको आते देख सभी श्रेष्ठ वानर सहसा भयभीत होकर युद्धसे भाग चले
tasya meghopamaṃ sainyam āpatad bhīmadarśanam | dṛṣṭvaiva sahasā dīrṇā raṇe vānarapuṅgavāḥ ||
మార్కండేయుడు పలికెను—మేఘసమానంగా నల్లగా గుంపుగా, భయంకర దర్శనముతో ఉన్న అతని సైన్యం దూసుకొస్తున్నదని చూచి, శ్రేష్ఠ వానరయోధులు అకస్మాత్తుగా భయపడి యుద్ధరంగం విడిచి పారిపోయిరి.
