tasya nānyo nihantāsti tvāmṛte śatrukarśana | sa daṃśito 'bhiniryāya tvam adya balināṃ vara ||
మార్కండేయుడు పలికెను—ఓ శత్రుకర్షకా! నిన్ను తప్ప అతనిని సంహరించగలవాడు మరెవ్వరూ లేరు. దంశితుడై క్రోధావేశంతో అతడు బయలుదేరి వస్తున్నాడు; ఈ రోజు, ఓ బలవంతులలో శ్రేష్ఠుడా, నీవే అతనిని ఎదుర్కొనవలెను.
