भीमसेनार्जुनौ चापि श्रुत्वा क्रोशगतं रिपुम्‌ । स्वयमश्रांस्तुदन्ती तौ जवेनैवाभ्यधावताम्‌,इधर भीमसेन और अर्जुनने जब सुना कि हमारा शत्रु जयद्रथ एक कोस आगे निकल गया है, तब वे स्वयं अपने घोड़ोंको हाँकते हुए बड़े वेगसे उसके पीछे दौड़े

bhīmasenārjunau cāpi śrutvā krośagataṃ ripum | svayam aśrāṃs tudantī tau javenaivābhyadhāvatām ||

శత్రువు ఒక క్రోశం ముందుకు వెళ్లిపోయినాడని విని భీమసేనుడు, అర్జునుడు ఇద్దరూ తామే గుర్రాలను తొలుచుచు మహావేగంతో అతని వెనుక పరిగెత్తిరి.
