मārkaṇḍeya-ukta yuddha-vyūha-pratyavyūhaḥ

जग्राह तामुत्तरवस्त्रदेशे जयद्रथस्तं समवाक्षिपत् सा | तया समाक्षिप्ततनु: स पाप: पपात शाखीव निकृत्तमूल:
jagrāha tām uttaravastradeśe jayadrathas taṃ samavākṣipat sā | tayā samākṣiptatanuḥ sa pāpaḥ papāta śākhīva nikṛttamūlaḥ ||
జయద్రథుడు ఆమె పైవస్త్రపు అంచును పట్టుకున్నాడు; ద్రౌపది అతన్ని బలంగా తోసివేసింది. ఆమె తోసివేతకు ఆ పాపి వేర్లు కోసిన చెట్టులా నేలపై కూలిపోయాడు.
