आविध्याविध्य तौ वृक्षान् मुहूर्तमितरेतरम् ताडयामासतुरुभौ विनदन्तौ मुहुर्मुहु:,वे दोनों बड़े-बड़े वृक्षोंकी हिला-हिलाकर बार-बार विकट गर्जना करते हुए दो घड़ीतक एक-दूसरेपर प्रहार करते रहे

āvidhyāvidhya tau vṛkṣān muhūrtam itaretaram |
tāḍayām āsatur ubhau vinadantau muhur muhuḥ ||
వైశంపాయనుడు పలికెను—ఆ ఇద్దరూ పెద్ద పెద్ద చెట్లను ఊపి ఊపి కొంతసేపు పరస్పరం మీద దాడి చేస్తూనే ఉన్నారు. మళ్లీ మళ్లీ భయంకరంగా గర్జిస్తూ, ఘోర నినాదాలతో మార్మోగించారు.
