Educational Q&A

Adharma—expressed through cruelty, deceit, and the oppression of the righteous—ripens into inevitable destruction. The verse frames the coming bloodshed as a moral consequence: the perpetrators of grave wrongdoing will not escape the results of their actions.

Vāyudeva delivers a foreboding prediction that the earth will ‘drink’ the blood of key Kaurava-aligned figures—Duryodhana, Karṇa, Śakuni, and the group of four associated with Duḥśāsana—anticipating the catastrophic war and their deaths as the culmination of their hostile conduct.
