The verse highlights a dharmic pattern: force is used to neutralize a predatory aggressor (Hiḍimba), while the protected survivor (Hiḍimbā) is not treated as an enemy but is safeguarded—leading to a constructive outcome (the birth of Ghaṭotkaca). It suggests that righteous protection and restraint can yield long-term benefits beyond the immediate crisis.
After Bhīma kills the rākṣasa Hiḍimba, he proceeds onward with his brothers, placing Hiḍimbā at the front as they move. The speaker notes that from Hiḍimbā Ghaṭotkaca is later born, connecting this episode to the future emergence of a significant warrior.
