गङ्गाधारणम् (Gaṅgādhāraṇa) — Śiva Bears the Descent of Gaṅgā

शज्जैर्बहुविधाकारैर्धातुमद्धिरलंकृतम्‌ । पवनालम्बिभिममेंघै: परिषिक्ते समन्‍्ततः,नरेश्वरर! तपस्यासे सारा पाप नष्ट करके वे गंगाजीकी आराधना करना चाहते थे। उन्होंने देखा कि गिरिराज हिमालय विविध धातुओंसे विभूषित नाना प्रकारके शिखरोंसे अलंकृत है। वायुके आधारपर उड़नेवाले मेघ चारों ओरसे उसका अभिषेक कर रहे हैं

Transliteration

śaśjaiḥ bahuvidhākāraiḥ dhātumadbhiḥ alaṅkṛtam | pavanālambibhiḥ meghaiḥ pariṣikte samantataḥ, nareśvara!

Translation

లోమశుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ నరేశ్వరా! వారు తపస్సుతో పాపాలను దహించి గంగాదేవిని ఆరాధించదలచారు. అప్పుడు వారు గిరిరాజ హిమాలయాన్ని చూశారు—వివిధ ధాతువులతో సమృద్ధిగా, అనేక విధాల శిఖరాలతో అలంకృతంగా; గాలిపై తేలియాడే మేఘాలు అన్ని వైపుల నుంచీ అతనిపై జలధారలు కురిపిస్తూ, అభిషేకం చేస్తున్నట్లుగా కనిపించాయి।
