Educational Q&A

Righteous intention matters: when austerity and worship are undertaken for dharmic aims—such as the welfare of one’s ancestors—the Lord, as world-sustainer, is said to grant fulfillment.

The speaker assures the listener that Lord Śaṅkara (Śambhu), once pleased through tapas (austerity), will certainly accomplish the listener’s desired purpose, because it is motivated by concern for the forefathers’ welfare.
