इन्द्रस्य दुःखप्राप्तिः—त्रिशिरोवधः, वृत्रोत्पत्तिः, जृम्भिकाजननम्

निर्दहन्निव चक्षु्भ्या योडसावास्ते तपोनिधि: । त॑ प्रलोभयितुं देव गच्छाम: सहिता वयम्‌

nirdahann iva cakṣurbhyā yo 'sāv āste taponidhiḥ | taṁ pralobhayituṁ deva gacchāmaḥ sahitā vayam ||

శల్యుడు పలికెను—అక్కడ కూర్చున్న ఆ తపోనిధి తన కన్నుల తేజస్సుతోనే దహించుచున్నవాడివలె కనిపించుచున్నాడు. ఓ దేవా! అతని సంకల్పాన్ని చలింపజేయుటకు మనమందరం కలిసి వెళ్లుదాం.
