सर्वथा तु मया कार्य धर्मराजस्य शासनम् | विभाव्यं तस्य भूयश्व कर्म पापं दुरात्मन:,मुझे वहाँ जाकर सबसे पहले धर्मराजकी आज्ञाके अनुसार संधिके लिये सब प्रकारसे प्रयत्न करना है। यदि यह सफल न हुआ तो फिर मुझे यह विचार करना होगा कि दुरात्मा दुर्योधनको उसके पापकर्मका दण्ड कैसे दिया जाय?
sarvathā tu mayā kāryaṃ dharmarājasya śāsanam | vibhāvyaṃ tasya bhūyaś ca karma pāpaṃ durātmanaḥ ||
ఎలా అయినా ధర్మరాజు ఆజ్ఞను నేను నిర్వర్తించాలి. అక్కడికి వెళ్లి ముందుగా సంధి కోసం సమస్త ప్రయత్నాలు చేయాలి; అది ఫలించకపోతే, దురాత్ముడైన దుర్యోధనుని పాపకర్మలకు శిక్ష ఎలా విధించాలో మళ్లీ ఆలోచించాలి.
