Adhyaya 60: Self-Assertion, Daiva, and the Rhetoric of Inevitability (उद्योग पर्व)
अकामद्वेषसंयोगलो भद्रोहाच्च भारत । उपेक्षया च भावानां देवा देवत्वमाप्रुवन्
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
akāmadveṣasaṃyogalobhadrohācca bhārata |
upekṣayā ca bhāvānāṃ devā devatvam āpruvan ||
భారతా! కామము (రాగము), ద్వేషము, సంయోగము (మమకారము), లోభము, ద్రోహము (శత్రుత్వక్రోధము) వంటి దోషములనుండి విముక్తులై, కలుషిత భావములను ఉపేక్షించినందువల్లనే దేవతలు దేవత్వమును పొందిరి.
