Drupada’s Instruction to the Purohita for the Kaurava Embassy (द्रुपदोपदेशः दूतप्रेषणम्)
द्विजेषु वैद्या: श्रेयांसो वैद्येषु कृतबुद्धयः । कृतबुद्धिषु कर्तार: कर्तषु ब्रह्मवादिन: २ ।।
dvijeṣu vaidyāḥ śreyāṃso vaidyeṣu kṛtabuddhayaḥ | kṛtabuddhiṣu kartāraḥ kartṛṣu brahmavādinaḥ || 2 ||
ద్విజులలో విద్యావంతులు శ్రేష్ఠులు; విద్యావంతులలో సిద్ధాంతంలో స్థిరబుద్ధి కలవారు శ్రేష్ఠులు. స్థిరబుద్ధులలో దానికి అనుగుణంగా ఆచరించువారు శ్రేష్ఠులు; అటువంటి కర్తలలో బ్రహ్మవాదులు (బ్రహ్మవేత్తలు) పరమ శ్రేష్ఠులు.
