Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Dialogue on Peace and the Refusal of Compromise

महद्‌ वो भयमागामि न चेच्छाम्यथ पाण्डवै: । गदया भीमसेनेन हता: शममुपैष्यथ,तुमलोगोंपर बहुत बड़ा भय आनेवाला है। मैं नहीं चाहता कि पाण्डवोंके साथ तुम्हारा युद्ध हो। यदि हो गया तो तुमलोग भीमसेनकी गदासे मारे जाकर सदाके लिये शान्त हो जाओगे

mahad vo bhayam āgāmi na cecchāmy atha pāṇḍavaiḥ | gadayā bhīmasenena hatāḥ śamam upaiṣyatha ||

మీ మీద మహాభయం పడబోతోంది. పాండవులతో మీరు యుద్ధంలో దిగాలని నేను కోరను. యుద్ధం జరిగితే, భీమసేనుని గదాఘాతంతో మీరు హతులై, శాశ్వతంగా మరణనిశ్శబ్ద శాంతిలో లీనమవుతారు.
