उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५४: दुर्योधनस्य धृतराष्ट्रं प्रति बलप्रशंसन-युक्तः आश्वासनवादः

Duryodhana’s Reassurance and Force-Praise to Dhritarashtra

एकैक एपषां शक्तस्तु हन्तुं भारत पाण्डवान्‌ । समेतास्तु क्षणेनैतान्‌ नेष्यन्ति यमसादनम्‌ । भारत! भीष्म, द्रोण, कृप, अश्वत्थामा, कर्ण, भूरिश्रवा, प्राग्ज्योतिषनरेश भगदत्त, मद्रराज शल्य तथा सिन्धुराज जयद्रथ--इनमेंसे एक-एक वीर समस्त पाण्डवोंको मारनेकी शक्ति रखता है। यदि ये सब एक साथ मिल जाय॑ँ तो क्षणभरमें उन सबको यमलोक पहुँचा देंगे

ekaika eṣāṁ śaktas tu hantuṁ bhārata pāṇḍavān | sametās tu kṣaṇenaitān neṣyanti yamasādanam ||

దుర్యోధనుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ భారతా! వీరిలో ఒక్కొక్కడే పాండవులను సంహరించగల సమర్థుడు; వీరందరూ కలిసివస్తే క్షణమాత్రంలోనే వారిని యమసదనానికి చేర్చగలరు.
