Bhīṣma’s Account of the Strategic Engagement with Rāma Jāmadagnya
यदि शक््यो मया जेतुं जामदग्न्य: प्रतापवान् | दैवतानि प्रसन्नानि दर्शयन्तु निशां मम,यदि प्रतापी जमदग्निकुमारको जीतना मेरे लिये सम्भव हो तो प्रसन्न हुए देवगण रात्रिमें मुझे दर्शन दें
yadi śakyo mayā jetuṃ jāmadagnyaḥ pratāpavān | daivatāni prasannāni darśayantu niśāṃ mama ||
భీష్ముడు అన్నాడు— ప్రతాపవంతుడైన జామదగ్న్యుని నేను జయించగలనని నిజంగా సాధ్యమైతే, ప్రసన్నులైన దేవతలు రాత్రి నాకు దర్శనమిచ్చి దానికి సంకేతం చూపుగాక.
