Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
तत्र त्वां निहतं माता मया शरशताचितम् | जाह्नवी पश्यतां भीष्म गृध्रकड़कबलाशनम्,“कुरुनन्दन! यह देखो, मैं तुम्हारे साथ युद्धके लिये कुरक्षेत्रमें चलता हूँ। परंतप! वहीं आओ। मैं तुम्हारा कथन पूरा करूँगा। वहाँ तुम्हारी माता गंगा तुम्हें मेरे हाथसे मरकर सैकड़ों बाणोंसे व्याप्त्और कौओं, कंकों तथा गीधोंका भोजन बना हुआ देखेगी
tatra tvāṁ nihataṁ mātā mayā śaraśatācitam | jāhnavī paśyatāṁ bhīṣma gṛdhrakaṅkabalāśanam ||
అక్కడే నీ తల్లి జాహ్నవీ (గంగా) చూస్తుంది—ఓ భీష్మా—నా చేతిలో నీవు హతుడై, వందల బాణాలతో ఛేదింపబడి, గృధ్రులు మరియు కంకుల ఆహారమై పడివున్నదాన్ని।
