छिद्यते ह्याततं सर्व प्रमाणं पश्य भारत । श्रेयस्ते दुर्जनात्‌ तात पाण्डवैः सह संगतम्‌

Transliteration

chidyate hy ātatam sarva-pramāṇaṃ paśya bhārata | śreyas te durjanāt tāta pāṇḍavaiḥ saha saṅgatam ||

Translation

వైశంపాయనుడు అన్నాడు—ఓ భారతా, చూడు; ఈర్ష్యతో కూడిన దుష్టబుద్ధి మనిషి సమక్షంలో ఎంత విస్తారమైన ప్రమాణాలను చూపించినా అవి కత్తిరించబడి నిర్వీర్యమవుతాయి. కాబట్టి, తాతా, దుర్జనసంగం కన్నా పాండవులతో సంగతీ, సంధీ చేయడం నీకు శ్రేయస్కరం.
