ययातिदौहित्रपुण्यसमुच्चयः | Yayāti and the Grandsons’ Consolidation of Merit
तमाहु: पार्थिवा: सर्वे दीप्यमानमिव श्रिया । को भवान् कस्य वा बन्धुर्देशस्य नगरस्य वा,अपनी दिव्य कान्तिसे उद्धासित होनेवाले उन महाराजसे सभी भूपालोंने पूछा--“आप कौन हैं? किसके भाई-बन्धु हैं तथा किस देश और नगरमें आपका निवास-स्थान है? आप यक्ष हैं या देवता? गन्धर्व हैं या राक्षस? आपका स्वरूप मनुष्यों-जैसा नहीं है। बताइये, आप कौन-सा प्रयोजन सिद्ध करना चाहते हैं!
tam āhuḥ pārthivāḥ sarve dīpyamānam iva śriyā | ko bhavān kasya vā bandhur deśasya nagarasya vā ||
అప్పుడు సమస్త రాజులు అతనిని శ్రీతో జ్వలిస్తున్నవాడివలె చూచి అడిగారు— “నీవెవరు? ఎవరి బంధువు? ఏ దేశం, ఏ నగరం నుండి వచ్చితివి? నీవు యక్షుడవా, దేవుడవా, గంధర్వుడవా, రాక్షసుడవా? నీ రూపము మానవసదృశము కాదు. చెప్పుము—ఏ ప్రయోజనము సిద్ధింపగోరుచున్నావు?”
