Educational Q&A

The verse presents a vision of cosmic order: waters circulate under divine governance (Varuṇa), sustaining all realms. It implies an ethical reverence for natural systems as part of ṛta (right order) that supports life.

Yuparṇa points to a particular sacred direction/place as the source-region of many rivers whose waters continually fill the ocean, and identifies it as Varuṇa’s abode where the life-sustaining waters for the three worlds are stored.
