Educational Q&A

A ruler’s true greatness lies in dharmic conduct. Such righteousness yields enduring renown—affirmed not only by human society but also by higher orders of beings—and it bears fruit both in this life and beyond death.

Utatthya is instructing the listener (addressed as Bhārata) on the qualities and rewards of ideal kingship, stating that a dharma-abiding king is praised in both worlds by devas, divine seers, ancestors, and Gandharvas.
