Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)
महादण्डश्न तस्य स्याद् यस्यान्निर्वे दिवा भवेत् । प्रघोषयेदथैवं च रक्षणार्थ पुरस्य च,नगरकी रक्षाके लिये यह घोषणा करा दे कि “जिसके यहाँ दिनमें आग जलायी जाती होगी उसे बड़ा भारी दण्ड दिया जायगा”
mahādaṇḍaś ca tasya syād yasyānnirve divā bhavet | praghoṣayed athaivaṃ ca rakṣaṇārthaṃ purasya ca ||
ఎవరి ఇంట్లో పగలు అగ్ని మండుతున్నట్లు కనబడితే అతనికి మహా కఠిన దండన విధించాలి. పట్టణ రక్షణార్థం ఈ ఆజ్ఞను బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించాలి.
