तस्य देहपरित्यागादिष्टा: कामाक्षया मता: । आनन्त्यायोपतिष्ठ न्ति सर्वतो$क्षिशिरोमुखा:,उस गृहस्थको देह-त्यागके पश्चात्‌ उसके अभीष्ट मनोरथ अक्षयरूपसे प्राप्त होते हैं। वे उस पुरुषका संकल्प जानकर इस प्रकार अनन्तकालतकके लिये उसकी सेवामें उपस्थित हो जाते हैं, मानो उनके नेत्र, मस्तक और मुख सभी दिशाओंकी ओर हों

Transliteration

tasya deha-parityāgād iṣṭāḥ kāmākṣayā matāḥ | ānantyāyopatiṣṭhanti sarvato 'kṣi-śiro-mukhāḥ ||

Translation

భీష్ముడు పలికెను—ఆ గృహస్థుడు దేహత్యాగం చేసిన తరువాత, అతడు ‘అక్షయ’మని భావించిన అభీష్ట లక్ష్యాలు క్షయము లేకుండా సిద్ధిస్తాయి. అతని సంకల్పాన్ని తెలిసికొని, ఆ కోరుకున్న ఫలితాలు అనంతకాలం అతని సేవలో నిలిచి ఉంటాయి—వాటి కన్నులు, శిరస్సులు, ముఖాలు అన్నీ అన్ని దిశలవైపు తిరిగినట్లుగా।
